Advanced Imaging for Fast Answers
At the Oxford Vet Clinic, we use endoscopy to help diagnose and treat conditions affecting your pet’s digestive and respiratory systems quickly and safely. An endoscope is a slender, flexible tube fitted with a camera and light source, allowing our vets to view the inside of your pet’s stomach, intestines, or airways in full colour and real time.
This minimally invasive technique allows us to inspect structures such as the oesophagus, stomach, and colon, identifying issues like inflammation, abnormal swellings, scarring, or narrowing. It also enables us to locate and retrieve foreign bodies — including bones, toys, hairballs, and even troublesome grass seeds that may become lodged and cause irritation or infection.
Because the procedure avoids open surgery in many cases, pets recover faster and experience less discomfort. Combined with our in-house radiology and ultrasonography, endoscopy helps us reach a diagnosis efficiently – giving you and your pet peace of mind without unnecessary waiting.
