We are cat lovers

Our love for cats is still at the heart of everything we do

Our roots as a cat only practice shape our practice and providing the best service possible for our feline friends is still so important to us.

While we have launched Oxford Vet Clinic to expand our service to care for local dogs and other pets, we’re still a team of cat fanatics with decades of experience and knowledge in delivering veterinary care for cats.

We’ve put a lot of thought into how we can welcome other pets into our practice while maintaining a calm, relaxing environment for cats.

We’ve provided a cat only waiting area, two cat only consultation rooms and a cat only ward, to keep unfamiliar noises and smells to a minimum.

Beyond that, it’s our attention to the little details – honed over 20 years of focusing solely on one species – that mean we’re still the best practice for your cats.

We find that cats know when they are with “cat people”, and our sympathetic handling reduces our patients’ apprehensiveness while being examined.

Oxford Vet Clinic: Cute tabby cat playing

Our Botley branch remains Oxford Cat Clinic – with the specifically designed facilities and expert team members through which we’ve built our name.

And as we’re still under the same independent ownership of local cat lover Mel Weatherall, the two practices will continue to work hand-in-hand, meaning the knowledge, experience and facilities at our Botley branch are always available to you.

Mel worked as practice manager at Botley for a decade under the original ownership of Dr Martha Cannon, still a member of our Botley team, and Dr Caroline Blundell.

This means Mel serves as a throughline to the original idea of Oxford Cat Clinic – and is committed to ensuring we remain the best vets for cats in Oxford.

Proudly under the independent ownership of Melanie Weatherall & family
